Early Life

Sacha was born in Arkansas to a military family with two sisters, her mother and father. Her father served in the Army and her mom worked various odd jobs. After her parents divorced, Sacha, her mom and her sisters continued to live the military lifestyle where they moved all over the south. As result, Sacha attended a new school almost every year of her K-12 education. From Arkansas to North Carolina, Florida to Texas, Georgia to Kentucky, Sacha has attended traditional public schools not only in multiple states, but in multiple counties within those states. She experienced what it was like in schools considered high quality, and those that were not. She also knows what it's like to walk to school, take a school bus, or use public transportation. Concerning a key issue of safety, Sacha knows what it's like to attend unsafe school environments. She's navigated gun violence and loss of members of her school community. Sacha understands what it means for a school district to be accessible, equitable, and safe.

Why I'm Running

Now is the time to reclaim the future of IPS. Our children deserve our respect and access to equitable opportunities.

We are stronger as a community. We cannot survive the confusion and division, and through strong community ties we can strive for high quality education.

I have the experience and skills necessary to lead and I am running for an At-Large position, which means I will represent the entire city.
